  5. This was pretty easy.

Disclaimer: (must reveal a standing bias) Oatmeal raisin cookies are a favorite going in…
From Best to worst (comparatively speaking that is)

#1 The Oatmeal based cookie w/ fruit:

Tasted like it had some cake batter in it. I prefer the oatmeal cookie with more actual oatmeal included but hands down this cookie w/ fruit (bonus) takes the blue ribbon for me. Added craisins would give this A++ rating

    #2 The Ginger blobs:

Interesting presentation with the weird shaping (must have been sticky-gooey-too thick dough). The taste was good (not overpowering) and the sugar outside a plus. Presentation needs some help.

    #3 Lemon squares:

Major coughing fit (ensued upon inhaling a tablespoon of powdered sugar). Lighten up on the PS and you could have been #2 (aka first loser) ;-)

    #4 Snickerdoodles:

By themselves they are easy to put away by the handful. Next to these other selections they are relegated to #4. Course what can you do with that recipe besides close your eyes and go through the motions, right? (Add Vietnamese vanilla and I’ll bump you north a spot next time!)

    #5 (outright loser)Chocolate Chip:

The red-headed-step-child (runt) of the bunch. Tasted like they were straight from a tube. Too many chocolate chips, too greasy, too gooey. Choc Chip should be discontinued until they are done w/ less chips. Know what’s really good? Chocolate chip cookies with no chocolate chips!

Thanks for including us on the panel!

Sadly all of the cookies are gone.

Kudos to all participants…hopefully no contention erupts between the glorious victors and the ignominious losers!

    See ya next year

  10. In a last minute comeback, the judging continued, and I failed to include the results of the last three judges! SO, in a nod to fairness and full disclosure, here are the revised results:

First place: Lemon Squares made by Lori *******

2nd place: Snickerdoodles made by Sarah (a move up!)
3rd place: Oatmeal raisin (this was sooo close to #2) made by Greg
4th place: Chocolate Chip made by Malena (also veryyyyy close)
5th Place : Ginger cookies made by Nick (moved up in points now MUCH closer to the rest)

Again, Thank you to the judges
